The Word Hoard

UnCool Before UnCool Was Cool

the one and Owenly
10 January 1970
This tells a lot about me if you care to look ...

Strawberries floating in honey
blushing upon my shelf.
My cat, Fido, sniffs the air
he doesn't like paint
so a mercurial furball
exits my room as the descending night
casts blood orange tracings
through steel wire smoke
of a neighbor's chimney.

What? I should tell more? Umm, I live among the cottonwood in the land of enchantment in a suburb of the Windy City. I have a guitar named Dulcinea. I sometimes do strange and secretive stuff for government agencies, but more recently I put lightning into bottles. I am older than I look. Adventure seems to follow me the way stray animals follow some children. Oh, and there will never be a naked picture of me here, so if that's what you are seeking, Off wi' ye!

"I used to think that life was unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse, if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." --Marcus Cole
